You’d never catch me onstage wearing

Before I go on tour I: Stock up on Volcom socks, tees, hoodies (the basics), but I always check the vintage Lemon Frog Shop in L.A.

The best on-the-road purchase I’ve ever made: Hard to pick—I’ve been touring for so long—but I’ve recently taken my full-length, multi-colored fox fur coat out of retirement. I purchased it new in Paris 15 years ago. I wore the full-length [coat] in a Royal Trux video, but I’ve seen a few people recently trying to “own” it. Kind of like long bangs, flannels, fringed leather, and snakeskin boots!

If this outfit were one of my songs Coach Outlet, it would be: “It’s Cool.” Should I explain?

For a six-date tour I’ll bring: Three “outfits,” but probably stick to the same one.

My personal style is: Very strong and has consisted of key pieces since I was a teenager. My style happens to be very “of the moment” right now, and has inspired many designers over the years—cool designers always acknowledge their inspiration and give me gifts.

I brought this outfit on tour because: They are all fave pieces and customized gifts that reflect my style perfectly.

You’d never catch me onstage wearing: Somebody else’s style … or lingerie.

I always pack: My snakeskin boots.

You can’t blame Jennifer Herrema for getting a bit territorial about her look — while blunt bangs and oversize fur coats have recently become de rigueur for the downtown set, the music icon has been rocking them since she began playing in the late-‘80s, and she just wants her due. After all, her bands have changed (there was Royal Trux, then RTX, and now Black Bananas) and her sound has evolved Coach Outlet, but Herrema’s sense of style hasn’t. Midway through a short tour with Sleigh Bells, Herrema catalogued what she wore to her New York show for ELLE.com (her friend and future collaborator, Pamela Love, took a break from Fashion Week to snap the backstage photos).

Outfit breakdown:
You can’t see everything, but … Blood is the New Black T-shirt, Volcom hoodie with arms cut off and customized with coyote ruff, House of Matching Colours leather fringe jacket (customized tour gift from Paula [Selby Avellaneda], the designer), Seth Shapiro plaid and velvet poncho, JJ x Volcom jeans (my line of made-in-the-USA denim) Coach Outlet, Judy Rothchild for R. Soles snakeskin boots, Pamela Love talon pinky ring Coach Outlet, Givenchy shark tooth necklace, and vintage bracelets and rings.
